I heard there is alot of problems with the gl 450, I like that better than the ml 350 becuse of its size, but I heard there is a lot of problems with the gl. Which one would you buy, Both would be 2009 years. thanks

Well, I like the size of the GL (The ML seems very small in comparison). However, maintenance on these cars suck.

Just at my recent service at 40,000 miles (I am picking up the car 2morrow from the dealer after a week), the following happened due to quality concerns and A LOT OF SQUEAKING!

Running Boards Cleaned and Detailed (there was bad water spotting)
3rd Row Seat Frames Replaced
2nd Row Seat Frame Replaced
Drivers Seat - applied felt to all contact points to prevent creaking
Replaced plastics in 2nd row and passenger seat
Replace sun visors because of squeaking
Lubricate door handles to prevent squeaking
Passenger Seat - applied felt to all contact points to prevent creaking
Trunk Lubricated to prevent squeaking
Center Console Replaced
COMAND Unit Replaced (bluetooth problems)
2nd Row 40 split seat replaced (headrest kept)
Steering Wheel parts broken and replaced

THE GL has a lot of squeaks and rattles after a while...
