Here are the stats: 39 months lease. leased on 11/2009 after returning 3 months early on 2007 GL450. selling price $60k with premium 1 package & partronic. Amount due at signing $7118, Base Monthly payment $746 + $60 use taxes = $807. A friend of mine just recently checked out 2012 GL350 and told me was offered better lease with $100 lower payment per month.
My deal was - MSRP of the car $73K..I paid $64,500 (3 year maintenance included). Total with NY tax about $70,600.
So in this case as I see - purchase is better if you have money to put down, but difference is not huge.
