auxiliary input in glove box help
I have an 09 GL450 with the ipod/3.5mm headphone jack in the glove box. I plan to install the Vizualogic headrest monitors and would like to output the audio to this 3.5mm jack so the sound from the DVD can play through the speakers. Now, does anyone know if this is possible? I would also like the option to use the ipod at any time. My COMAND unit does allow me to select either the aux source or the 'ipod' source but it looks like i have to unplug the ipod if i want to hear sound through the 3.5mm jack. Is this correct? Is there a way to have both plugged in at all times and simply be able to switch between the 2 sources? I'm hearing that an AASS (automatic audio selector switch) switch might work but i've only read about it on the 07 and 08 models. Is it the same for 09's?
Mid-city engineering also told me that the 3.5mm jack in the glove box can also play video if i get the right cable. Can someone confirm that as well? Does anyone know what cable to get?

Yes i am, but the problem is that when i have the ipod plugged in using the ipod plug, and the vizualogic plugged in to the 3.5mm jack, the ipod always plays. The only way to get audio from the vizualogic is to unplug the ipod. 
There has to be an easy way around this.

When I had my '07 GL450 I had the vizualogic headrest in but didn't have a 3.5mm jack - just the ipod interface. Had to purschase the AASS - I believe it became standard in the '09 so its what you have in your car now (its basically a Y with each input on either end). And yes, you do have to have the ipod unplugged in order for it to sense things coming thru the 3.5mm jack. What I ended up doing is buying an ipod cable "extender" and wiring it into the center console, that way at least it made it easier to swap between the two - its a pretty hard to plug in the ipod in the glovebox when you are driving!!!
