2007 Mercedes GL - Airmatic question
1. All four are eventually replaced. OEM parts suck.
2. You're a fool if you use anything but the Arnott parts.
3. Rears are easier than easy to change but fronts aren't that bad either if you're a halfway competent mechanic.
4. Arnott insists on you changing the little fitting at the end of the air hose; personally, I wouldn't if I did it all over again. I thought changing the fitting grossly overcomplicated the installation. You could always not change the fitting and test it for leaks after installation.
I replaced it myself. As a result, I am not sure how much it would cost. The work is not complex but you need to have a garage and the right tools. The dealer's price is outrageous. Nobody in the right mind would do it with them, except if the car is under the warranty or has no other choice. I hope it helps.
