2012 or 2013 GL

I am currently in the market for a GL450. I noticed that dealers can offer the 2012 models with 12K-15K discount off the MSRP. With the 2013 models arriving in September, all the dealers claimed that they will be selling the new 2013s without any discount. Would someone confirm this claim from the past experience with MB dealers when new models were introduced?

With this information, I could project the real cost difference between the two cars then determine to get the 2012 or 2013 model. Thanks for the help.

Based on my previous experience - the time with no discount ( or very little ) will go on for about first 3 - 6 months. After that it all depends on the market conditions, MB programs and your skills. Next September you will be able to buy this car for at least 7% - 8% off MSRP, but definitely no $15K off MSRP.

The last week of December, you might be able to negotiate invoice pricing on the GL. Easily.

That being said, if the same dealer has any 2012 GL parked on their lot, you can expect more than 15k off MSRP on those.
