No Audio comming from COMMAND

I just had no audio at all coming from my 2011 GL350 COMMAND system (P2 package - Harman Kardon "upgrade"). There was no sound, but the NAVI was working (showing directions) - just no sound. Radio didn't work, etc.. I tried turning off the GL and restarting it and that didn't work. Then went to the gas station and restarted a few minutes later and now it works!

I did a search and found a thread in the E350 forum where several owners are experiencing this same issue: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...mand-unit.html

It seems like some E350 owners just did a system RESET and voila, it worked. Others restarted their cars later on and it worked. Some had the COMMAND system replaced. A few brought theirs in for service and the dealer couldn't replicate the problem.

Anybody have this issue with a GL? I suspect we share the same COMMAND unit as the E class?

Yes, I've had the same symptoms. I just turn off command and reboot and it works fine. I've had to do it maybe 3-4 times in 3 years of ownership. No big deal.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I've spent some time searching this, other forums, youtube, google, etc. This happened to me just once, but it was enough to get me looking. For most people the issue seems to stem from a problem in the Teleaid unit. The COMMAND unit thinks you're on the phone and mutes audio. The easiest solution is to just disconnect the Teleaid unit for the phone (since I'm guessing no one uses the onboard phone), and use the fibre splice part to remove it from the loop. A few others have done the same with the 6 disc changer in the glove box. I hope this helps. For me the problem happened once and then resolved itself. It's been two weeks now without an occurrence. If I end up going down this road, I will get specifics and take pictures of the repair.
