Chrome Cross Bars. PN 6-7-81-2129 To much chrome? I was thinking the same, but I guess MB do their job, I mean, each factory accessory look very good, with a good taste on each one. Very easy to install.
When I place my order, I was planning to keep only what I like... I keep everything !

List price $374.00 got it for (around) $300.00 the bumper plate is a plastic chrome piece, not metal, not SS. overpriced but rear bumper look 150% better with this plate.

This will be a good one, I try to research about trunk liners, carpets or wherever for a good protection (spill, stains), well, I check several liners, included mb cargo liner, Husky, whethertech, can't remember PN but when you fold the 3rd row seats the carpet/back of the seats are unprotected, so I order The Genuine MB cargo tray PN BQ 6 75 0038 most dealers don't know anything about this tray, also, you can not order this tray at any website (at this time). my resourse was ebay from a seller that just sell genuine MB parts, they are MB dealers. Carpet have velcro that attach to the carpet. I will say best Cargo liner you can get. Tray is chemically resistant. The good Genuine MB part. Before I order this cargo I look everywhere for more pictures.... nothing. For this reason I just try to help the GL X164 comunity with pictures (maybe you are in the same boat), you will have all info in one thread.

Carpets. I have a chance to compare side by side four different styles of carpets, 3 Styles from MB genuine parts One aftermarket.
a) The fist one was called "all Season mat" (NO all weather mat, they are different), PN for black mat is 1&2 Row seats is Q6680686 3rd row is Q6680691 you need to order two parts, for beige o grey PN is different, a heavy rubber material, cover just the floor, no sides protection, this is not a liner following the contour of your SUV interior, SUV carpet will be dirty for sure by the edge between mat / SUV carpet. This carpet will be good for city drive mixed with some out of city drive, can hold some dirt, snow, dust... but nothing heavy.
B) The second set was called "floor mats", the quality very poor, look like $20 for a full set, better quality at any retail store aftermarket mats, maybe good for a City drive only, no rain, no mud, no dirt, no kids. Not an option for me.
c) the 3rd. set was called "all Weather liners" Genuine MB parts, I order at MB dealer, you can order the 3rd. row seat but for some reason after the order dealer contact me saying the 3rd row seat is discontinued...??? yes, happend to me with 3 different resoruses, please be advise before place your order. PN for black was 1st & 2nd row Q674009, 3rd row PN Q668647, again for black color. All weather liners are comparable with weathertech liner or husky liners, liners cover pretty much all areas where you can step, hold heavy snow, mud, dust, etc. maybe best choice from Genuine MB parts.
d) Aftermarket Weathertech liners. After stop by dealer to pick up the "all weather carpet" I order before the famous weathertech liner PN 44016-1-2-3 where 1-2-3 mean 1st, 2nd, 3rd row seat, a complete set in black color, different color is different number. As soon I open the Genuine MB "all weather liners" I realize that the quality of weathertech is 100% better, better in all aspects, (I return the genuine liners in the spot !)I read different threads before about liners, some people say MB lines are made by weathertech, maybe couple years ago but not anymore, quality is way different. I am a person that always order Genuine parts, never aftermarket, but the winner here is weathertech, price is higher than genuine parts but you get better quality all the way, beter fitmet belive it or not. MB should hire weathertech for liners again. Hope this review help new GL owner's. please add any coment if you think I am wrong. I never compare Husky liners side by side.

I order black color because black still match with my interior, but the the real reason was because beige color (grey too) can be look dirty easy, rubber mark from shoes are common, this happend with my all weather mats from other mercedes, so I pick black at this time. A few pictures of weathertech installed

Next project Hood Chrome fins.
After read so many threads, look like alot of GL owner's are happy with the chrome fins, I was not interested on this, but due to many trips to my dealer I saw this hood fins in person on a GL + on a SLS AMG so I will decide to order the parts...
Please be advice that you need to order two parts for this project, If you decide purchase a genuine parts you need to order the trim set PN B66 88 1302, aftermarket trims came with a 3M double side tape, but Genuine parts are different, you need to order a "glue kit" PN B66 88 1304 to attach fins in place.

6) Apply a layer of adhesive, aprox 1mm tick, (I mean 1mm no 1 inch. !!) inside of the chrome fins, but after my first fin, I got a better result applying adhesive on top of the black fin, a little on the sides, you don't want excess of ashesive out of your chrome fins. (pic 2-3)
7) Line out the fins from front to back, just slowly let it set, press on (pic 4)
8) Remove any excess of adhesive, the glue kit provide a small cleaning wipe.
9) Recomended not to drive your car for the next 24 hours, fins look like came from factory lol
