Tailgate Not Opening
When I try to open tailgate I hear it making noise as if its opening, but doesn't open. I have to crawl through the 3rd row and open tailgate manually every time.
Someone told me I have to replace the latch (not sure if it has to be replaced or it can be fixed)
Any ideas on how to fix issue?

First choice, if you are near a major population center is to ask around, talk to neighbors or friends and locate an independent repair service. That indy should have experience working on German cars. Get them to give you an estimate of what is wrong and the cost of fixing it.
Second choice is a dealer with their very high fixed costs - that you will pay for. This choice may be the only one available if you are NOT near a good indy. It may also be the best choice if the only problem is an adjustment of the latching motor. You earlier search should have turned up some incidents where the tail hatch es had adjustment issues. If that is the case, only a dealer might have mechanics experienced in the adjustment process.
It seems like you have a faulty motor or something stripped in the mechanism. I had the motor go out in my 2007.
Can anyone help us figure this thing out? Thanks.
It cost under $250.00.

If it sounds like it wants to release but can't this will solve the problem.

The problem is with closing it either with the fob or the indoor switch on the door. It opens just fine with the fob and door switch.
What could close it not to close (go down) either by fob or door switch but NOT OPEN. According to the dealer it needs hydraulic fluid but they've lied to us before and we don't want to pay for a fake or very temporary repair.
Any ideas?
