GL - Custom LED headlight built in DRL (DROOLING)
I'm determined to get the front of my GL hooked up with some sort of DRL LED function without paying tons of money for the foglight DRL swap.
Then I came across this video!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PbuwBF6ryU
Then I did a Google Translate and viewed their site (it's Russion) and I was really drooling looking at all the custom LED headlight/taillight work they've done for various brands of cars. WOW!! I emailed them to see if they would hook me up. I also started searching for local (or at least US) vendors who can do custom LED lighting. I'd rather my LED head/tail lamps be a little different form the stock ones.
PS: I ordered the rear LED tails from eBay. But they flash red on the turn signal. I'd like that part to flash orange. I've inquired about that as well.
Keep you posted.

Custom LED light strip beneath headlights would be super nice. MB should have done this for the facelifted 2010+. They'll have this LED strip for next gen GL's for sure. In that video the inner strip should have been flashing as well as the corner parking lights and while pure white is nice I'd prefer amber colour for legal issue. Swithback LED front turn signals would be awesome......white for normal lighting and switch to amber for signaling.
For now, I have to settle with amber LED bulbs....much better than stock look.

Agreed. That video simply gave me a new idea. I've seen the switchback LEDs which is what I would opt for. But I like that strip staying on xenon like blue to match my HIDs, then when you hit the turn signal, I'd prefer like you mentioned to have them do the switch back to LED orange. Did you visit their website and check out the other work they've done? Sick! Some is tacky, but a lot was done to perfection.

I just took a look and their work is indeed amazing. I can't get enough of LED lighting..
If there is a local vendor I'd be all over this project. Keep us posted on your search.

I told you. Their work was top notch. It's clear they didn't use those cheapo 3M LED strips. I found a place in CA that does "custom LED" work. I'm waiting to see what they say about my requests. Keep you posted.
