My local dealer says the Atlantis 1800 or boxter won't fit on the factory crossbars according to his book. 2009 550 with factory crossbars. But I've read other posts that claim both fit.

Can anyone confirm? My dealer doesn't have one to try.

It fit ....tight , but it fit (boxster), you have to remove the lock to slide the attach over the bars. paid 750$ including shipping in USA.

Was it tight because it barely fit over the crossbars or tight due to the rear hatch opening? The store seemed to think it was because the of the rear hatch.

The installation instructions says the max width of the crossbar should be 80mm/3 1/8 inches. The width of the crossbar is about 3 1/2 inches. But you say it will fit if you remove the lock?

Also, did it stick out too far over the front windshield?

tight over the cross bar, they have plenty space over the top, no problem with the rear tail gate.

Correct, it fit if you remove the lock to slide the box over the cross bars.

It's a lock with a key, if you dont have the key, check on it their is a number ( example 211), go onto thule website, you can order directly onto website.
