Rear view camera
My car was not equipped with a backup camera, but my new head unit is one I believe to be out of a GL with a backup camera. Anyone know if the wire harnesses are the same, in that I could install the module and camera and it work?
Basically, I would buy the camera/module/brackets, with the idea that the GL wire harnesses are identical (i.e., they have the plugs for these items installed).

Your local dealer's parts department may be able to tell you exactly what you need and where to look for it on the car. Most parts folks are pretty helpful in figuring out what it takes and how to go about getting a mod like this done. They can probably take your VIN, plug it into the the star computer and tell you exactly which wiring harness is in your car and whether that harness supports the back-up camera.

You're pretty optomistic, Fourdiesel.
From my experience dealers are almost always clueless in doing any sort of retrofits. I always have to have all the information spoonfed to them and tell them exactly what parts to order with part numbers that I provide.
If you're serious about doing a backup camera retrofit, I'd contact MBenzNL on this board. He's knows all there is to know about retrofits of any kind.
