Cannot read navigation DVD

Cannot read navigation DVD
I am experiencing an error message "Cannot read navigation DVD" which I noticed is quite common and for many it required a new NAV processor. My issue is that it only happens when I try to input a new address and it happens on only certain starting street letters.
For example when I try to pres H for Harlem Ave the "cannot read navigation DVD" message appears after which "Navigation is initiating Please wait" and then it goes back to the menu where I can input the address.
Any street name starting with letters A-F works, then G-L does not, M-P works, Q-T does not and then U-Z works. This is a strange because if something was physically broken then it would not work at all but in my case I need to make sure that the street that I'm looking for start with the letter falls within the brackets listed above.
