Cam magnet fitting question
Anyone done this?, can give some advice on how to get to this passenger side exhaust cam magnet?
Many thanks

regarding replacement of the magnets. I didn't try to do the exhaust bank magnets, because I couldn't even get the torx bolts started (loosened). But it looks like the magnet can be replaced. It's wicked tight clearance, but the intake magnet on that side was pretty tight, too.
I hope you're doing the trick of the 1/4" closed end wrench.
When you say power steering reservoir - passenger side - are you in a right hand drive car?

I then tried to remove the hose and since it was dead cold I thought fluid had run back into tank: nope. spilled probably a 1/4 cup down the serp belts and pulleys! (This simple DIY is going from simple, to bad, to awful for this one cam magnet.
I'm back to searching the exact location for the ONE that is giving me faults. P0025 I thought was drivers side.
You also have to remove the C clip holding the reservoir to the pump, you will only see this using a mirror, its at the bottom RHS of the reservoir, behind the return hose.
I syringed all the fluid out first, but when you pull off the tank you still get oil everywhere.
My O’ring had flattened compared to the new $3 one from the dealer, one tip for refitting is place the C clip on the tank first so that it is in position, otherwise it is impossible to get your hands down and fit. Once bolted on you can lever the C lip in place with a screwdriver.
After doing it once, I recon I could do it now in about 1 hrs, it is super tight, and by the look of it no tricks.
Good luck
Thanks for the followup. I don't understand why more GL owners aren't facing this.
I got the P0025 code and ordered the magnet from Amazon. I removed the radiator top plate and then moved the radiator hose to the side and unscrew the 3 screws. After unscrewing the reservoir screws I was still unable to see or feel why I was not able to move the reservoir to side. But anyways I remembered that I read somewhere that it should give me enough room to get the job done. I unscrew the 3 bolts holding the magnet. I able to get the bolts out. Now when I tried to get the magnet remove, it was touching the reservoir I barely put any pressure on the reservoir but it broke off at the bottom where it was attached to power steering pump. All the fluid came out but now I had all the room the replace the magnet
.Anyways I am attaching the pictures where it will show the broken part. But anyways I need to know if I should purchase some special power steering fluid or can I use the one which I can get from AutoZone?

I think it's just garden variety ATF. Check your manual, though.

MB Power Steering Fluid or approved Dexron III ATF
You can use the goor-may stuff if you want, but this is a frickin hydraulic pump. It just ain't that finicky.
