Can someone please help me with hood ornament installation specific to the 2009 GL450. I bought a hood emblem and all it has on it is two pins on the back.
How do you remove the old one and install the new one? I don't see how these 2 pins are going to hold this in place...
Thank you.

it is a press fit type. the two pins go into plastic sleeves that are mounted from the bottom. look at the emblem from under the hood and it is self explanatory. do not try to pry the emblem from above. instead, remove the plastic piece from the bottom. that is if memory serves me right. havent done one in a while.Originally Posted by csbracing316

Use some fishing line and slide it between the hood and emblem. Pull straight up and it should come out.
Hey thank you very much for the info. I'll get it done. Sounds pretty simple.

I purchased new chrome hood pins for my 2012 GL450. It came with a weird type of adhesive in a squeeze tube and also a packet marked activator. Can anyone tell me how to apply this adhesive to install the hood pins? Thanks, Bill
