Engine died on highway. Help!

My truck suddenly died on highway last night while driving 110km/hr. It could not start right away, but waited a while it started then died again after 1 km drive. It did it a couple of times finally I managed to get it home. Just before the engine loss power I felt misfire.

The similar issue happened back into summer. I found a crack in the air intake rubber seal and replaced it and an air mass meter. It had been fine since then I thought it fixed.

Could it be the CPS sensor? please help.

My experience with crank position sensors is that the engine will continue to run when one goes bad, but will be difficult to start, or won't start, after you have shut it off and try to restart it. Also, a bad CPS will set a check engine code. Speaking of, did you check for codes?

I have had experience with the car stalling out while driving due to a bad CPS. It really sucked because I was going through a huge intersection and up a hill when mine took a dive. It's really embarrasing when your Mercedes is stuck right in the middle of an intersection. I had to coast backwards and into a turn lane to get somewhat out of the way.
