driving the wifes GL450 (09 with airmatic, no comfort/sport option) it feels overly soft for me. no leaks or anything - can raise and it stays for days - just too soft for my preference. can this be modified electronically without the sport button option? i see it uses the same height links as the w215 does. can i lower it a bit and expect a tighter ride? just feels like a race truck when you step on it, back drops, front lifts etc.....

Switching to a wider offset and 22" wheels and tires was the cure for mine. It made a HUGE difference in handling. There was a good penalty for mileage but it is well worth it for the increased handling response and improved road feel. It really cut down on the body lean I felt with the stock tires and feels much more stable now.

I've been running the 22" wheels and tires for over 100,000 miles and am still on my second set of tires. I can probably get another 10,000 miles before I need new tires. The only draw back is I get cupping on the inside edge of the tires. MB's stock suspension is not adjustable to where this can be eliminated. I will need to get an adjustable alignment kit.

I was thinking of Kmac so I can adjust the alignment but I can't get them to send me a picture of what I would get for the $1k it will cost. That's got me a little worried that a company will not send a picture of their product before I make a purchase.

thank you so much for the info - this one has the optional 20" ( I am sure nothing like your 22's) wheels from the factory - -I just want to kill the 'mush' feel - either that or i will close my mouth and get back in my car that so dearly is just part of me
