Drive to workshop without changing gear, No communication

Out Of Control!!
My turn
Replaced the Airmatic compressor and ended up with a weird "runs for 4 seconds and shuts down" problem.
Chased that to a burnt trace in the front fuse box.
Jumppered the bad trace, and all was good for about 10 minutes.
Then "DO NOT SHIF GEARS"
"DRIVE TO WORKSHOP"
Car dies and is locked in park.
Will not crank, and steady beeping from dash.
No comms with TCU.
Frack!!!!
stuck on the road, , can't get it home, so towed off to the dealer.
Warming up my wallet for a full on raping!

Well they found a short in the fuse box, so maybe I messed up the repair.
And ot seems the short popped a fuse in the underhood distribution box, so both get replaced before they can diagnose any further.
Well, crap, I didn't think about a blown main fuse. If i did, i might have had it towed home.
P.S. they don't replace the main fuses, they replace the box. (Where the jump post is).
I am sure the two boxes with labor will be well north of $1k.
Hopefully that is the whole problem.

It is part of the positive jump post on GL, ML, and R vehicles in the 164/251 series (maybe others also)
It holds 5 or 6 of the single bolt in fuses and 4 I think are installed.
There is no electronics in it (it is not a SAM) (Looks like that SAM may have an electronic switch or power monitor along with the fuses.)
P.S. DO NOT solder a fuse and think you are getting any reliable fuse action no matter how much experience you have.

Hey I have same problem
I was driving down my street and the car just stalled on me! Shut it off and was probably worst thing I did!! Was saying don’t shift any gears drive to workshop!! I thought it was ism cuz it wouldn’t go into any gears I couldn’t even see the gear indicator box that highlights around park or neutral or drive. I bought ism and now it’s showing error codes saying there’s no can message is received from the control module “transmission” and no can message is received from ism and no can message is received from the control module “engine control module”. When I turn on my ignition I hear fan come on never heard that before I believe. I don’t have the money to take to dealership and This has been a headache. Only 3 months from a buy here pay here dealer. They screwed me. If there’s anybody that can help me it would be a blessing!! I have a daughter and a wife to support.. any help would be appreciated. I’ve checked all fuses they are fine.
