Drive to workshop without changing gear, No communication

Chased that to a burnt trace in the front fuse box.
Jumppered the bad trace, and all was good for about 10 minutes.
Then "DO NOT SHIF GEARS"
"DRIVE TO WORKSHOP"
Car dies and is locked in park.
Will not crank, and steady beeping from dash.
No comms with TCU.
Frack!!!!
stuck on the road, , can't get it home, so towed off to the dealer.
Warming up my wallet for a full on raping!

And ot seems the short popped a fuse in the underhood distribution box, so both get replaced before they can diagnose any further.
Well, crap, I didn't think about a blown main fuse. If i did, i might have had it towed home.
P.S. they don't replace the main fuses, they replace the box. (Where the jump post is).
I am sure the two boxes with labor will be well north of $1k.
Hopefully that is the whole problem.

It is part of the positive jump post on GL, ML, and R vehicles in the 164/251 series (maybe others also)
It holds 5 or 6 of the single bolt in fuses and 4 I think are installed.
There is no electronics in it (it is not a SAM) (Looks like that SAM may have an electronic switch or power monitor along with the fuses.)
P.S. DO NOT solder a fuse and think you are getting any reliable fuse action no matter how much experience you have.

did you check the fusebox under the jump connector?
