SOS TRANS PROBLEM
2007 GL 320 .Hi I am on vacation in Florida and I'm from Chicago. Today at the stoplight when the light changed green I let go of the brake pedal and give it gas in the car did not move. Quickly put it in park and then put it back and drive the car started to move only in first gear did not want to shift. I quickly pulled over and I gas station. I shut the car off and restarted started to drive in and started ship fine.I got out in the highway to go home 10 minutes into the drive and check engine light comes on. I did not have any RPMs after 2700. it was okay because I was doing 75mph. When I got out of the highway it's felt like I do not have a first gear . Started to go in second gear and then third fourth. finally came home. Let the car cool and started again . Drives fine shifts okay . Will take it to the dealer tomorrow to see what's wrong with it can't drive it like this to Chicago. Has anyone come across these problems.

Update
Droped the car of at dealer this morrning and just got the call. Valve body is bad. Valve body is $1,200 . New teas fluid and programming and softwer up date . Total to fix it is $2300. I have 220,000 miles on the trock. Hope it lastes me another 200k. Has any one have ther Valve body changed and how dos it ride. Dos it still have a hard shift when your stoping ( down shift from 2nd gear to 1st gear) ?

They all go bad. I have a feeling they just put in the same defective part and called it a day. You should be good for another 100k. I'm amazed you got pver 200k on the original.

Literally just had it replaced 4 days ago paid $750 warranty took care of rest only had 88k on it to answer yr question yes I noticed when it shifts it shifts very hard it's frustrating also it sure why I want to wait before I take it in again

Same issue to resolve, but my symptoms only occurred when the transmission was hot after a couple of hours on the expressway. Tranny would be stuck in 7th gear until it was shut off. Not dangerous other than if you came to a halt at lights, the suv would not move faster than about 5 mph until you could shut it off, and then back on. ($1100 valve body replacement)
