Rear Entertainment No Power, not Fuses

Hi All,

2011 GL350 Bluetec

I can't get the rear entertainment system to power up at all. It's totally dead.

Things I've checked:
1. Remote Batteries (Duh, but not it)
2. Fuses. They look good, but I replaced them anyways. Didn't help.

Any suggestions? I've heard there is a wire run near the middle row center console that can get crimped, but I'm not sure where to look. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

samiran

No.

I might be having a complete brainfart, but it (the DVD unit) is in the center console, between the two front seats.

Nope, no power, dead as a door nail.

the rear dvd unit fuse is in the trunk area - fuse #23 (chart is somewhere around the urea tank cover- check)

if the fuse is good you will need to remove the dvd unit and test if it gets power. if it does - there is a fuse inside the unit, but if it is blown there is good chance you will need a new unit.

Ok, great. I've checked fuse #23 already, but I will check again.

I have not removed the unit yet, how difficult is it to remove so I can access the wiring connector behind it? Should I get a printout from WIS?

Appreciate the info much!

it will give you an idea

once you remove the console the dvd unit is self explanatory; look for model number (there could be one of few) and google the pinout

It looks like I can get at the DVD unit by removing the bezel, and then 2 torx screws. It seems like it should slide out, without having to remove the center console.

If I can access it like that, any suggestions on which pins in the wiring harness are the power pins?

As mentioned you need the model number as there is more than one through the years. Once you have it you can search and get the pinout

Stealing this thread. I have the same issue, did you fix this? In that case, how?

2010 GL350
Hoping to resurrect this thread

2010 GL350 with factory installed rear entertainment system. A few weeks ago, my kids said the left screen wouldn't come on. Tough to diagnose/trouble shoot while driving, but I finally got around to it yesterday. They are right. Left screen is dead, no picture or sound even if you plug in headphones, but right screen works fine. No other problems with system. Fuses seem to be good, at least the ones I can find. Is there a fuse inside the video screen somewhere? Any other suggestions?
