Where is it leaking from? What kind of oil is this?
Hi, I just bought a 2007 GL450 4matic while looking underneath the SUV I found no leaks anywhere except for this oil in the rear end of the GL. Does someone know what's going on?
Its not the transmission I said rear end, I believe it's the transfer case, the seal was replaced before I bought it. It may be leaking again or did they just not clean it when replaced since it's dryed up oil nothing on my driveway.

it is leaking right below the filler hole and the oil is getting blown back.
judging by the amount of oil there if they cleaned it before they replaced the center diff gasket and oil - your diff is now close to empty.
remove the filler cap and check with a L- shaped piece of wire the level of the fluid. the level should be right below the filler hole. avoid driving if it is not.
somebody didnt install that gasket correctly/ pinched it/ over/under torqued the bolts, torqued unevenly. it is also possible that the center diff was filled with the wrong fluid - the diff takes 722.9 red or blue atf (depending on model year) and the front/ read diffs take gear oil.
It's driving perfectly smooth no sounds no thumps, nothing knocking on wood it drives flawlessly. I cleaned it I was planing on driving normally and checking again in a few days for recent leaks. I'm also going send these pictures to the shop that did the work.
