Is it possible to change the 2nd and 3rd row headrests
I have a 2016 GL 450 and a 2016 GLC 300. I love both cars and very happy with them, except one thing that keeps bothering me. The headrests on the GL450 are nothing short of atrocious. They are so uncomfortable, my wife, who usually sits in the back with the baby when we drive my car is pushing me to buy another GLC, which has infinitely better headrests on the second row.
Is there any way to change the headrests of the 2nd and 3rd row? I understand they need to drop down when the seat is collapsing but even a fixed headrest of 5-6 inches would be better than the current spring-based headrests. To be clear, the concern is not that you need to pull them up every time you use the second row, but the fact that you just can't rest your head on a headrest that keeps going backward. Who in his infinite wisdom came up with these headrests.

You may get a better answer in the forum for your model year?
But, I just sat in the second row of my car. I can adjust the height of the headrest pretty high and I can also tilt it. It seems like I can get it to be pretty much perfect. I certainly wouldn't want it to be any further "back" since then it wouldn't provide for enough protection against whiplash. But I can comfortably rest my head on it.
I don't know if yours are different from mine or if they are interchangeable. I would imagine the "rod" parts are the same - whether or not the style of the headrest is the same or if it will work in conjunction with your seats, I don't know.
