NO REVERSE NO GEARS AT ALL. I RESTARTED NOTHING, NO GEARS WORKS.
I TOWED TO MY HOUSE AND HOOKED UP WITH OBD2 GAVE ME CODE P0730.
INCORRECT GEAR RATIO.
ON 722.9TRANSMISSION.
NO WARRANTY WITH 133K

It could be low fluid, old or dirty fluid, bad Shift solenoids, or the transmission control circuit.
Are there any other codes? Either way you need to at least replace the fluid. And go from there.
it could be as simple as low tranny fluid level (did anybody do a tranny service recently? do you have any leaks?) or a conductor plate malfunction or a serious mechanical issue.
My 2006 GL500 (The Australian GL550) had 65,000km. I had tried a transmission service - Replacing filter and ATF / draining Torque converter, this didn’t work.
I tried replacing the valve body and ordered transmission body speed sensors from China before surrendering to an independent Mercedes mechanic, who had to tear down the transmission to find the torn seals.
Ended up costing quite a bit to get it back on the road.
