Attempting to upgrade NAV, get "the map cannot be updated"
My wife's '11 GL450 presumably has the original maps in it. I ordered the NTG 2.5 North America v14 DVDs on Ebay and they arrived today. http://www.ebay.com/itm/272577457200...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I tried either DVD, and, within a few seconds of being inserted, the COMAND screen shows "The map cannot be updated. Please contact MB service."
So, rather than doing as I was told by COMAND, I started Googling. I haven't come up with anything concrete, but it sounds like there is some sort of update for the COMAND that needs to be applied before the DVDs can be read.
Is that an accurate assessment? If so, how do I find out what update COMAND the GL needs? I'm trying to avoid throwing a bunch of money at the dealer just to get updated maps, and I'm already $80 in for the map purchase.

I contact the seller and asked him if he had any input about the error message. Almost immediately, I had a refund and a note that "there was a problem with the DVDs". They sure looked like original DVDs (I compared the label pics with others I had found and they looked identical) but maybe they were.. not original. Regardless, I'm glad the seller fixed the situation, and I'll just keep my eye out for another used set of 2016 DVDs.
