Cool

Are you talking about the MBStar in the circle in place of the flat emblem? I replaced my flat emblem with the star on my 2014 E. I think it cost about $70 . But on my new GLC it is not possible.
When you lift the hood if there is a hole under the emblem then you need a special tool (dealer has) to remove the flat emblem and replace it with the stand up star. The reason I can't do it on the GLC is there is no hole. But the C class sedans have a hole. Not sure why the made the hood without a hole but they did. So left the hood and take a look. I believe the flat emblems hole size is a standard size.

Drill a hole

Whether you do it or whether MB did it on the production line, it can be done! Paint the cut edges. However, not having one in front of me to see it, I don't know if there is a slight recessed area around the hole for the emblem base to sit in. Granted, that can be done, too - but gets more complicated than just drilling a simple little hole.
