Just bought a 2014 GL450 w/ 40k miles and wondering if I should get an extended warranty. what's likely to fail?

Extended warranties are a gamble. You should always buy one from a reputable dealer. Never off the phone or internet as those are most likely SCAMS! Claims and payout can sometimes be tricky, especially if they are trying to deny a claim. These vehicles can do a beat down on your wallet after the OEM warranty expires. Most people lease them to avoid the cost of repairs after the warranty expires. You'll notice when they reach 4 years or 50K the value does a nose dive and the warranty cost goes up as well as the pay out increase. You should have pulled a CARFAX to get a reading if it had been in the shop. Vehicles with excessive entry records should be steered cleared from. Especially if the CPU has been reprogrammed numerous times. Also steer clear from vehicles that were not maintained.
