Hi all, I've joined up here as I'm going to get a 2011/12 gl350/450 in the very near future.
I'm coming from several years of Audi ownership I'm afraid to say so don't be to hard on me.
Spec on options wanted will be
Amg styling/ 21"wheels
Rev cam
Distronic
Sunroofs
Harmon
Run boards
rear seat entertainment
Lux seats be nice
What else are nice haves?

My biggest concern is the 5 digit postcode nav, this is nothing new to me as Audi is the same, but I'd like to make the inside a slightly more modern look. I see Alpine do as beautiful unit x800d ml, anyone have another option to bring the infotainment up to scratch that won't cost £2k

350 much easier to find but worried about being to slow, I know it's a chuffing big heavy beast but the 450 gives me a bit more what I'm used to. Economy isn't really to concerning , having something that can seat the whole family in style is

I thought the same, but the thing moves. It's the torque curve.

My current Audi is a 3.0 tdi with uprated turbo so. Running 550+lbs ft torque which is why I'd like the 450 then if I fancy can map that 😂

You do know when you add a tune to a diesel, it's not a small bump. But that's my contacts in germany. Be sure to post pics and look for the wood wheel option. Few have it, but it really completes the look inside.

Keyless go is really nice to have. I didn't care for the "comfort" seats. The side bolsters felt overly firm and uncomfortable.

Comfort seats must only be with the real leather package?

Probably so but I'm not totally sure. While looking at used GL450's over the last year, comfort seats were a rare item for the GL450 but almost always had them in the GL550's.

I think the real leather package all gives the ambient led lighting along glove box, and doors, etc. Does you 450 have that? Maybe this will be easier way to tell when cars have leather or not,.

So after waiting for the right car to come to the market I've think I've found the perfect spec
one question
is it possible to have rear entertainment for the 3rd row seats?
we don't iPads or tablets at present which could be fitted on mounts

I've never seen this done and I think it would be difficult due to the nature of the second row seats. I think mounting tablets would be your best bet.
