stay pipe in transmission drain plug to allow filling to proper level?

I think I read this someplace. How does a DIYer fill the tranny after you've drained it, R&R the pan and replaced the filter?

search it plenty of info on here - think I even saw a youtube video - 7 gtronic tanny - 722.9 I believe is the no.

you overfill it a bit when cold, run the engine until atf reaches specific temp depending on the tranny pan revision and then open the drain... the excess drains and when the solid stream becomes more of a drippy stream you are at prescribed level.
