Diesel Clatter getting louder
Hi all i've noticed the diesel clatter on my Gl320 has gotten slightly more audible. Can somebody point me in the right direction as to what could be causing this? It not noticeable at cruising speed but I can hear it at idle pretty clearly.

I started to notice it more after I did an oil change and started using 5w30 ESP but that was around the same time as the weather turning. Any maintenance items I should look into? Aside from the additional clatter she runs great!

you might want to have the timing chain checked for stretch. om642 engines can develop that issue over time.
a M-B shop has the tools to check how much it has stretched. depending on the amount of strecht, they can either change the tensioner or the complete chain.
