Brake Hold / Hold function

Hi All,
just wondering if anyone knows if tge X164 GL420 cdi models
should have the brake hold function?

so you come to a stop at the lights or a junction in drive and while pressing the brake you tap a little further and it holds the brakes for you.
Thats how it works on my C Class but doesn't seem to on my GL.
could anyone tell me if this model should work in this way.
many thanks folks

Can't say on the 420, but on mine it seems to work seemlessly. Of course, it only functions if you're facing uphill. I don't do anything special or push the brake pedal a certain distance. I just come to a complete stop... when I'm ready to go the brakes stay on for a second or two to give time to get your foot to the accelerator without having to worry about creeping back downhill.

It would be described in your owners manual if you have it ...
