Suspension issue

I have a gl350 x164 2012. While driving A loud bang was heard from the rear with a hissing noise as if air is escaping. The ride went very rough. I stopped the vehicle and saw that the rear wheels were no longer perpendicular to the ground.. what could be the issue

Just a WAG.but you probably blew an airbag. Go to Arnott.com and get a new one. I recommend replacing both.

Thank you will check the website. Question: Why would the rear wheels go out of alignment as they are no more perpendicular to the ground

ok so I got the air bag replaced, however the vehicle still has a rough ride and the rear tires are not touching the ground perpendicular. They are about 2" out from the point they touch the ground. Nothing is broken though. I dont know if it a design feature or there is an issue.

Can you post a couple pictures so we can see what you are talking about? But either the bags are not inflated, not installed correctly, or something else underneath is broken/bent and you just didn't notice.

There is nothing broken under the car. I have posted the pictures in the word document. The wheels are tilting outwards. Maybe they were always like that. The ride is ok now.

Is it just me, or is the right side leaning more than the left side? The right side is NOT normal. If, in person, the left looks like the right side does in the picture, then that is not normal, either. Are you sure nothing is bent? Have you jacked it up and looked REALLY close... compared left to right? Just a thought, but if you heard a bang, then a hiss... that sounds more like something broke/failed, and then caused a small hole in the bag. I would "think" that if the bag blew and caused the bang, then all of the air would have went out immediately (hence the bang) and there would be nothing left to "hiss".

However, check your ride level sensors. If they're off, that could cause this issue.

Have an alignment done with a ride height calibration. The 164 does call for a bit of camber back there, can't tell from that picture if it's normal or not, but if your level is off it will be excessive.
