Question GL550 Power steering fluid leak (2008)

I have a leak at the power steering input shaft seal and at seal between reservoir and pump. Mechanic recommends replacing pump/reservoir assembly and installing steering head repair kit. Expensive job. Has anyone had this problem? What was cost to repair. Thanks!

I think I am seeing the exact same leak on my 2008. Did you get an initial estimate from your mechanic?

My mechanic (not MB dealership) estimated $1,300 and would need the vehicle overnight. He is a MB trained mechanic with lots of credentials.
