x164 - Small left mirror ?
Hello,
Could please someone explain me the reason for having a smaller left mirror compared to right one on x164 ?
It is showing only a small part of the backside and completely useless.
Do you have any solutions for this ?

I use a stick-on spot mirror on the driver's side and it does help with eliminating blind spots..
However, side-view mirrors are not meant to see behind you - that is the function of the rear view mirror. When a side view mirror is properly adjusted, you should NOT be able to see the side of your vehicle. Side view mirrors should be adjusted so that you do not have a "blind spot" along the side of the vehicle. Meaning, a car in a lane alongside you should be visible in your mirror until it is next to your window where you can easily see it.
Your question is not uncommon, though - most people do not adjust their mirrors properly.

Well,
i understand you quite properly but the issue is clear; the mirror is small!
Why make a small mirror while you can make the same large mirror like the one on the right side ?
Left one is too bad as it has a very narrow angel which prevents you from seeing the left lane actually.
What kind of stick mirror are you using ?

I'm only guessing here, but I suppose the reason the mirror is smaller is because we are closer to it. Because of "math" and "angles", the closer you get to a mirror, the wider your field of vision gets. And, just another guess here, but since the two mirrors don't share a common "mold" (for manufacturing) it probably wouldn't save any money to make them both the same size.
Not that I disagree with your gripe, mind you, I like larger mirrors better, as well - small mirrors are bad when towing a trailer. And... that right-side mirror... still on the small side!
When I adjust the left mirror just right, I do end up with a nice view of the left side of the vehicle and the left lane. Although my view of the left lane doesn't extend for a long, long way - it does extend plenty far enough to be safe. Combined with the rear view mirror, I have zero blind spots.
Spot mirror... it's nothing special. I did find a rectangular one (rounded edges so it looks a little better) as opposed to the typical round ones you can find. But this was a few years ago - I'm sure all I did was google for stick on spot mirrors (or something like that).

I’ve owned my 2007 GL since new and the mirrors are original and they are both the same size.
Yes, the right side glass is convex and objects appear smaller. That does not make it larger.
I’m fairly certain no vehicle is legally sold new in the USA with anything but flat glass in the driver side mirror.
You can order all kinds of glass if you have access to non USA parts. Note that auto dimming glass is $300 or more.

Out of curiosity, I measured my mirrors. The passenger side mirror (the actual mirror, itself) is 1/2" taller and a 1/2" wider than the driver's side.

It is bigger in size and has a very very wide angle.
Driver's side mirror reminds me the ones on Lada Samara's which are old russian cars with no mirror usability.

Ah, but... the real question is... "Is the driver's side mirror smaller, or is the passenger's side larger?" Sort of like the chicken/egg question

You could fix this with glass without that capability ... a silly idea of course.
This is a complaint looking for a problem.

Nah, not a complaint or a problem. Just curious and wondering why there is a size difference. I did notice that the driver's side has a thin, black "border" around it. Is that the auto-dim part you're talking about?

Yes,driver's side has a border around which makes it smaller.
Due to the view aspect, the picture on that mirror is nearly half of the other side.
