Arnott Struts ride quality

Hi All,

How does Arnott compare to OEM in terms of ride quality?

Following, I am going to need front's soon as I get a clunking noise when turning. Control arms have been changed but shop said its the struts making the noise.

When I purchased my GL over a year ago I didn't know the front units were Arnott until I put my face in the wheel well to check why the left side was a little lower than the right side. Remans at that. Car rides very smooth but I don't recommend remans for obvious reasons. Other than that they are really comfortable.

I just replaced my oem struts with Arnotts last weekend. So far, the ride seems smoother. We have a long raid trip ahrad so wellw see how the highway ride quality has changed.

I'll have been curious myself about the Arnotts. I just picked up a '12 GL450 70K miles and a saggy rear end after sitting overnight. Fronts were replaced at the dealer last year.

How does one go about finding leaks? Checking the rear air bags with soapy water seems like an impossible task due to difficult access with the wheel/tire still attached.

rears are pretty easy to access.

Are you looking at the right part?

Crawl under the car and look for the bags where the normal springs should be.

You may have a stuck or faulty ride height sensor.

You must be skinnier than I am.

I'll get it up on ramps and see what I find.

Raise the suspension using the 3" lift button on the dash. Squirt soapy water on the bags. Look for stoner spit; it will most likely be ~3" above where the fold now is.
You can crawl under when the suspension is lifted, but get ready to hustle out if you hear a hissing sound. Or put jack stands under to make it fail-safe.
