Angry X164 GL420cdi gear shifting too early.

I am new to this website, so be gentle with me please, I have GL420cdi I've using it now for 3yrs when suddenly it starting to change gear from 1st to 2nd normally then 3rd to 6th very quickly causing power loss. when the car stops it automatically goes back to 1st and then the same gear shifting again. what I do to be able to drive it properly is to use the paddle shift manually, strangely it will not work on manual but will work on auto, leaving it on D3 making it change automatically up to 3rd then I will use the paddle to change to 4th, 5th, 6th. MB Star says that EGR was faulty and Diesel Particulate filter DPF, engine light is also on. I have sorted out the problem with EGR. Just wondering if the PDF has got anything to do with it. Please help

Probably the tranny valve body. Goes bad in pretty much every 164 GL.

Tranny valve body? Do you mean the EGR body housing? I haven't check that yet, do they get block badly?

Turbine speed sensor fails. It is repairable. Search the forum. If you take to the dealer, it will be a few $k to replace.
