Tranny gone crazy

when I drive sometimes I will lose power and my RMS will go high (70mph = 6RMS) and it just feels like i am in overdrive.

If I stop turn the car off and then turn it back on then it starts working normal again (until the next time it happens again).

It happens sporadically.

I have an aftermarket warranty but I can't afford to go take it in, pay for a diagnostic, only for them to tell me its something random (besides the tranny)
and its not covered under your warranty.

does any body have any insight as to these symptoms?

why do yoi assume it wont be covered?

Im pretty sure this sounds similar to the turbine sensor failure

Thanks for the reply...its an aftermarket warranty and I know there is often no room for interpretation with these things and if it doesn't explicitly say its covered then its not covered...

I don't know anything about the turbine sensor but what I do know is the line item say "The internal components of the automatic transmission. Drive chain gears, carrier bearings, and internal trans-axle seal. The transmission case and torque converter, transfer case, drive gears, forks, bearings thurst washer, bushing, washer, and housing are covered, if damaged by the failure of internally lubricated parts."

What is "RMS"?

Is this different than in your other thread about a slipping transmission? There were some recommendations in that thread... did you follow up on any of those?

Ah, I think you're referring to "RPM's"... Revolutions Per Minute? In other words, how fast the engine is spinning?
