GL550 rpm @ 70mph?
I have a 2010 GL550. It is new to me. When interstate driving, and going 70 mph my RPM are running just a touch over 2000. Is this about right? I would think it might be a little lower with a 5.5, but then again, with the truck's weight... What are you getting as far as rpm @ 70mph? Thanks, Bo

I don't know how many speeds your tranny is... 7? But that sounds about right? Count your shifts, starting from a standstill. Do you get into top gear? Does the torque converter lockup (somewhere around 45-ish mph, usually)? If all of those things are good, then you're good.

Just got back from a multi-hour highway drive yesterday actually, and was actually looking - and was just about on the 2000 rpm dot myself at 70 mph.
EDIT: Way home tonight, and 70 mph was reading at about 2080 RPM on average, on Torque. That was at the indicated 70 on the speedo.

Just came home and drove the gl and 150kph is just at 3.5k rpm
Not surprising to hear that 70mph is at 2k rpm.

One way to make sure you're in 7th gear is to manually trigger the left paddle switch down to D6, then right paddle back to D7 (or D) and see if the RPMs drop.
