This new/new 2020 model year for the GLS - which is now the 3rd generation GL - will have no charge option of "Captain's Chair's" as 2nd row option as 6-seater.

Other than that (and that will NOT retrofit into X166 or X164) - I have not personally seen anyone do a 2nd-row/2-seat conversion.

Apparently the new design for the rear seats do NOT include the ability to turn 180 deg and face the rear (a part of what the OP said). It is rear facing where you lose the foot-room.
