That said, what exactly are you looking for? Trying to eliminate blind spots? I mostly eliminated them by adjusting the side mirrors properly that I could no longer see the side of the vehicle (after all, these are side view mirrors, not rear view). However, I still had a bit of a blind spot on the driver's side so put a stick-on convex mirror in the upper corner and that works great. Cost me about $7, if I remember correctly, I did look around (search ) for a bit, though, to find one that was aesthetically pleasing - a sort of rounded-off rectangle instead of the typical round style. It is also mostly flush with the existing glass as opposed to the kind that sticks out about 3/4" to 1".
If the X166 style would fit, I wonder very much if it's larger enough to make enough of a difference to justify the cost.

You’ll pay at least $1000 per side upgrading to 2011-12 mirrors using new parts. You may find used ones, but the whole wiring thing gets complicated since very few if any early GL were fitted with lane warning while it seems most later models were. A retrofit includes new shell with turn signal lens, new motor assembly, and of course new glass. You understand of course, that just the self dimming glass is >$300, probably more if it has the lane warning triangle too. The covers can be purchased painted and maybe you’ll be lucky and your old color was continued for new versions.

I wrote this on another thread:
I had this done on my 2010 GL350. I bought a brand new unpainted aftermarket 2011/2012 set and then had them painted with the 650 paint to match the car. Not that expensive actually. My units costed $110 each to paint compared to buying brand new OEMs they are identical to the aftermarket units. They power fold, have turn signals, puddle light, and heating function. It just doesn’t have the dimming driver side mirror and since X164s didn’t have electronic blind spot assist it doesn’t have that either. BUT they do have blind spot mirrors though, hence the dotted line down the edge of the mirror, which is VERY HELPFUL and an awesome alternative. Hope this helps!

But... if you look back at your post, you don't mention anything about prior searching. And being that none of us (well, at least not me!) are mind readers, how would we know? A common them on forums is for people to ask questions in hopes that someone else will do their homework for them. I'm not saying that YOU are guilty of this, just that it is a common theme and we would have no way of knowing one way or the other.

Mildly off topic, but: You can get the Euro-style side mirrors, which are mildly convex in the middle and then transition to more curved at the outside. This is a cheap replacement.

Eric, it sounds like you're referring to replacing just the glass? In other words, pop the existing glass off and the new one on?

I ordered one for the left (driver's) side, but didn't use it because I forgot I have auto-dimming. PM me if you want that glass, non auto-dimming, for 07 (and a few other years).

Thanks for the offer, Eric. But I have auto-dimming, as well. My spot mirror is working nicely, but I'd be curious to hear more about how you like that new glass and, if you remember, where you got it from/cost? I found some non-auto dimming ones, but having trouble finding auto ones. Nice price on the non-auto ones, though!

I couldn't find dimming aspherical anywhere. Gave up after about an hour of searching. UK parts stores sell aspherical, but no auto dimming. If you find anything, give me a holler.
I greatly prefer the aspherical to the U.S. convex. It takes some getting used to. I'd like it on the driver side, but only so the two match, making switching from one to the other easier.
Anyone at all want the driver side aspherical? I'll probably just sell it on Ebay, but if possible it's nice to keep it in the fam.
