Avin usa head unit install - backup camera issue?
I just got the avin usa head unit to replace my old ntg 2 command. Everything so far is working but the compass and backup camera. I purchased the cable from avin to integrate factory camera, but the issue is that I do not have the green fakra connection on old command. So where is the camera input, and how do I convert it to an RCA so it will plug into the avin unit?

Amerc,
Thanks for the reply, I did read your post and it helped me greatly for the install, one thing I could not find though is what wires you cut to tap into the back up camera. Were they part of the big connector or was it a separate connector?

Let me borrow images from original poster to illustrate.
On the main block connector, you will find a small black connector with 2 main cables that split into 4 as they enter the connector. Pull out that connector- it comes out.
Once the connector is pulled out, it looks as in the image below. The cable ending with 2 smaller white and black cables is the back up camera cable. Cut the back up camera cable and put the connector back into the main block. Or just cut the cable without pulling out the connector. The back up camera cable can then be spliced into the RCA connector.
For aesthetic results, use heat shrink tubing after splicing. I used 2 - one smaller one for the inner cable and a larger one for the shield wires on the outside.
If you experience any battery drain issues after installing the head unit, I think I figured out the issue.
Enjoy!
