It seems there are two different places where it can be. Pre 1.8.2010 it is in the trunk right side. After 1.8.2010 it has been moved to under the floor covering behind the left rear seat (picture shows behind the front seat but text says rear seat).

I know this is an old thread, but I am trying to locate the keyless go module on my 2015 GL550. I cannot find anything anywhere online on it's location and was hoping someone here would be able to help. Thanks!

Wrong section. Your 2015 is X166, not X164.

I found this forum helpful and wanted to share what I found while changing my keyless go module. I have a 2011 GL350 and my keyless go module is located in the rear compartment under the 3rd row passenger window. I was able to remove a few screws and pull the panel from the rear enough to see inside and get it replaced without removing the panel (which is a pretty big job). I purchased the replacement module from ebay, it was not the same number as the one I removed but it works perfectly!

Hello:

What were the symptoms that pointed to a bad Keyless Go module?

I can only open my doors with the remote, never with the key in my pocket. Also the push start does not work.

Thanks.

PS: Any easier stuff to check first? The fuse is good.

Those are the symptoms. It's the Keyless Go module. Pick one up on Ebay.
