I had my truck (2007 GL450 with 130,000miles) at a shop and he tells me that he doesn’t want to replace my power steering pump because the care has too many codes and isn’t worth it. He gives me this print out of all the issues but I’ve never seen this code format. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
I've not seen this formatted this way, either. I take it this is a shop that does not often deal with Mercedes? You need to find a Benz specialist shop.
I've hooked my Benz cars up to STAR computers and been shocked at them showing a bunch of faults, only to find the faults were old or hiccups and meant nothing.
They’re formatted much like DAS - stored and current codes are capital F’s, stored and past codes lowercase f.
your have a lot of random codes, could be a weak battery causing that.youll get a rush of electrical/voltage codes when the battery isn’t strong enough to perform its circuitry keep-alive duties.
Just purchased a 2003 S350, it had no dash lights at all, still the first thing I did when I got it home was connect the Autel, it had a crap load of codes, but once I cleared them and the car test driven, on the recheck it had 1 code for the radio, the rest were cleared, I put it down to codes that were stored from previous repairs that were not cleared.
I would get the shop to clear the codes, take it for a drive and recheck, I have not come across a car that does not have codes logged, unless there is a problem, the codes wont turn back up after a drive.
That mechanic is politely telling you your car isn't worth the hassle or your money isn't worth it to him. If you want to keep your car, find a new technician that's familiar with Mercedes.
