X164 in the Sand/Beach

Has anyone taken their GL (without offroad package) on the beach or in the sand? I've searched the forum and found a few indications that some had, but not much info there.

Was thinking of taking the GL to the truck beaches here and don't think it would have a problem, but I'm unsure how the 4MATIC would handle wheel spin in deep sand. Does anyone have any experience?

I have a 2012 GL350 running 275/55r20 Revo 3s which would be aired downed.

Thanks for any insights.

Ive been in the sand many times wet dry you name it. Zero issues with getting stuck and this is using regular w/s tires

Thank you. I'll give it a try. Worst case I need to bust out the shovel and boards.

Seems like someone wasn't paying attention to the tide and didn't know what they were doing.

There won't be any wheel spin, as automatic traction control does not permit it. Why would you turn it (ESP) off? Read owners manual.
