My 2011 GL550 with 196K miles suddenly losing quite a bit of brake fluid which triggered the parking brake sensor. I checked the master cylinder and it was drained half empty. I noticed there are 2 fluid dripping spots; behind the front left undercarriage panel and middle left undercarriage panel, and I assumed there is a brake fluid line running here from front to back. Have anyone ever had this issue? Possible cause and solution?
you will have to remove the splash shield under the vehicle and trace the source of leak. Might have to use UV dye if it comes to that. Then replace that part of line. They sell replacement kits with compression fittings. I hope it is not master cylinder but it may be.
Likely pin holes in the hard brake lines from corrosion. MB sells a repair line along with fittings to splice a new piece in place, however it requires a special tool to flare the ends that most dealerships should have.
