Mercedes brake fluid 000989080701

Hi

Does anyone know if Mercedes brake fluid (part #000989080701) is a low viscosity or not? The label says it's DOT 4 PLUS, but the specs do not mention whether it's ISO 4925 class 6 or class 4. I use low viscosity brake fluid in all my other European cars and I'd like to use it for MB as well if I can instead of buying MB specific fluid.

Thanks,
Sergey

Dot 4+ is not specifically low viscosity. My understanding 4+ is a higher boiling point version of 4.

What spec does your vehicle call for in the owners manual? Cross reference in Bevo.

DOT4 works almost as well. I have been running it for past 3 years. Unless you are racing, DOT 4 will serve the purpose.

I checked the service manual and it just says that DOT 4 plus has higher boiling points (dry and wet). Does not really mention anything about viscosity. I wont be using my low viscosity fluid then.

Thanks

if the manufacturer of your preferred fluid has a website, check there for their recommendation for Mercedes.
