Question Will weak battery show Airmatic fault? (Update: Oil seepage from shock)

Hello folks. I'm new to GL450. 2012. I'm getting airmatic fault in dash after about 15-20 miles of driving. Turn the car off and restart and the fault goes away. The car has never dropped to the ground. All shocks remain level and inflated even after weeks of sitting. If I raise the car, the car raises slowly but does go up all the way. If I then let it down and the raise it up the 2nd time, it shows "compressor cooling down". The car does start slowly and sometimes it takes longer to start than normal. I was wondering if the weak battery causes this malfunction? I will be changing that air filter soon. Was wondering if that filter has anything to do with it?

Secondly, is there a member here close to me that has the Mercedes diagnostic software that could help me with scanning the GL. I'm in Goldsboro, NC about an hour east of Raleigh.

Kind regards and thanking you guys in advance for your advice.

UPDATE:

I looked closely at both rear shocks and found that the right rear shock has oil seepage. Will this give my warnings in the above post?

A weak battery usually gives a bunch of random errors, not necessarily airmatic though. The slow raise time is indicative of a worn out compressor and it should be replaced. The battery isn’t really to blame for that as the alternator should be providing current while the car is running.
then you gotta ask yourself why the compressor is burnt out. 9/10 times it’s because of a leak in a bag.
it’s very easy and cost effective to preemptively replace both rear airbags when you’re replacing the compressor. Doing the fronts is a little more involved but diy able.

a leaking shock will not trigger an airmatic error message. Do you know if you have ADS? Then it might trigger some other code which will neeed to be read out with a scan tool.

I don't have the sport/comfort button or any other buttons. Does this mean that I don't have ADS? Also, if I raise the vehicle twice, on the 2nd try it say compressor cooling down. I think my rear end is bouncy. Car never deflates, even after weeks of just sitting.

If I don't have ADS, does this unit come with the airbag in it as one piece or are airbags for the rear a separate item? Car has 72K miles. Should I replace both? And what else do I need to look for? Kind regards

You don’t have ads because you do t have a sport/comfort button and there’s no connector to the shock.

your rear is bouncy because the rear shocks are done.

in order to replace these properly the rear interior panels have to come off

the rear airbags are much easier to replace and completely independent of the rear shocks.
