GL 450 Exhaust Question

I have a 2008 GL 450, and I was wondering if I should do a muffler delete on it. I daily drive this vehicle to and from college. I have seen a couple of videos on youtube, but am not sure if it will cause a drone at highway speeds. Has anyone here done this or have any ideas whether or not this is something that I should do. I want to hear more of that great V8 sound, but in its stock form it sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

Now just one GL450 with EORP.
Sure, sounds fun. If you do that it’ll sound awesome 1% of the time.

The other 99% of the time you’d wish you never did anything to it.

this is a couch on wheels, not a boy racer.

Maybe If you look at some ML63 exhaust components and see if those fit you’ll have something liveable.

One option is to install an exhaust cutout. That way you can have it loud when you want loud and quiet when you want quiet.

J.C. Whitney used to sell an exhaust Y with a gate. Open it for freeway cruising. The irony is for most vehicles cruising at speed there isn't much back pressure anyway.
