2012 GL350 Diesel Leak Rear of Engine Question
I just took top end of my engine apart and put it together and it still runs! For now... This is not totally off topic. While I was there I raised the engine and replaced both mounts. I guess in doing so I worked loose the hose connecting fuel line on engine to the line leading to the tank. There are 2 clamped hoses at the back of the engine driver side, one of them leaks - quite a bit when engine is running.
This here is the part number of the hose (it is same for both feed and return line):
A1644700075.
And what it looks like:

I think each hose is like 40-50 bucks... So before I go to the dealership and just buy the hose, I wanted to ask for advice. The hose is fairly long as you can see from the picture. There is quite a loop of extra hose. Is that kind of like a service loop? Can I cut the end off and clamp a fresh section of the hose if it looks undamaged? Or is this dumb and I should just go and buy a new one? I am no mechanic, sorry if this is stupid question.
Thank you all in advance!
