Lift gate issues

Hey guys. I have a 2011 GL450. Im having trouble with my power lift gate. It wont open or close with the use of the button on the door nor on my key fob. It’ll only open & close manually. Any suggestions on what it might be? I havent checked fuse nor done a test on the motor yet. Trying to find out how to approach the situations

...check errors, check if the gate status is "normalised". See if you can actuate the lift gate with xentry/SD - if that does not work, then there is a mechanical issue. If you can, there might be another fault or the lift gate might just need a simple normalization procedure.

There was quite a few posts about similar problem with W212 where lift gate was no longer working after replacing the battery - the rear latch somehow lost its coding and required reconfiguration to work...

Does it give any indication of 'trying' to open/close with the buttons (beeps, motor whir, etc)? If so, you are probably just low on hydraulic fluid, and/or have a leak in the fluid reservoir.

Search the forums, this/similar issue has been covered at length.

Sounds like your electric latch and modulator is toast. I bought a Dorman latch to do mine. Parts quality was identical to MB at a lower cost. Search YouTube for a DIY video and do it yourself. Takes about 90 minutes to do since you have to pry off the rear hatch panel.
