I am looking to get an illuminated star for the grille and can’t seem to find one as an option before 2013. Does anyone have any suggestions or links to a product that could make that happen?

Bumping up! Hope someone somewhere has had success with an illuminated star for a 2012 GL x164.

This seem like an impossible question to get an answer to. I have a 2012 GL450 and I only seen one person to say that they replaced it however they didn't give instructions or details.

It might be that not a lot of people of done it because they’re not commercially available in the US… I can think for a number of reasons such as safety related it might be mistaken for a third headlight, etc. etc.

I was able to find one thread where it done. But there really isn't any instructions on how they did it. It just seems off that there are tons of videos, aftermarket stars and post for 2013 and up.
